Dressage at Devonwood - 2009
So we just got home from Devonwood, 3 weeks ago, and are just now getting to our weblog now, phew. Traumhof and Steinberg Dressage had a great show and beat the heat as best we could.
Todd and I headed south for Portland around 6:00 am on Saturday and made it just in time to see Taryn and Ghitas first PSG at Devonwood. Both performed beautifully, without Jeremy’s coaching as he was prepping Lily for their afternoon GP, and once completed they promptly headed for the water bottles and shower stall. Saturday afternoon Jeremy and Lily did their 3rd ever GP to a large crowd and “knocked it out of the park” as Todd would say. Lily showed some beautiful P and Pa, as Debbie McDonald calls it; bring home the second blue ribbon of their show.
Sunday Sunday Sunday brought more PSG for Taryn and Ghita and GP for Jeremy & Lily. J and Lily won their 1st GP Special class of the Dressage at Devonwood show and Taryn and Ghita had a lovely ride as well. Axel Steiner made some pretty amazing and warranted, we think, comments on Taryn’s seat being possibly the best at the show and we really couldn’t top off a great weekend with anything better than that.
Thank you again to Devonwood and the Rattner family for another amazing weekend at Devonwood Equestrian Center. That’s all for now, see you in October at the California Dressage Championships at Rancho Murrieta, CA.
Happy riding,
Todd & Cathy

Debbie McDonald Clinic - July, 2009
It's Sunday night and everyone is back home, tucked in, fed and watered after another great 2-day Debbie McDonald clinic. From 1st level to Grand Prix, riders from around the state traveled to our home farm of Traumhof for 2 days of insight, skill, lots of cold water and a ton of fantastic new excersises and ideas for the rest of everyones busy season.
2700+ photos later, a little dust and a lot of encouragement from riders and auditors alike, I really enjoyed spending the weekend with you all and being allowed to share in each of your special rides. Thank you to everyone and I'm looking forward to it again come September?
Special thanks to Debbie McDonald, Jessica Lyman, Kevin Fink, Jeremy Steinberg, Karen Moore, Caryn Bujnowski, Stephanie Blockley and Courtney Lautman.
Cheers,
Todd Riffle

Welcome
With a Cannon Rebel xti we borrowed from my mother-in-law, I started photographing dressage shows in 2008. My wife and I were attending a show our horse was entered in. After the first class, my wife decided she needed to tend to our mare and left me with the camera. After many classes, hours of hurry up and wait, a lot of freinds and family encouragement, Todd Riffle Photography was born.
Let me know what you think, more photos coming soon.
